Summer Sizzling Science

Class Description

Come fizz, pop and boom with Summer Sizzling Science mini-camp! Each camp day, campers will discover the fun and fascinating world of science through amazing hands-on experiments, some with an eruption component! Future scientists will be engaged and inspired!

Class Requirements

Ages 5-8

Please prepare materials prior to class and have readily available for children during class.

Class Supplies

Monday: Pencil Pick Up Rice, Bunny Juice
Materials:
Uncooked Rice
Small Plastic Bottle/Container with Narrow Neck
Pencil, Pen
Funnel (optional)
2 Cups
Tray
Mixing Spoon
1 Tablespoon
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Food Coloring
Dish Soap

Tuesday: Erupting Legos, Water Drop Races, Melting Ice

Materials: legos
pipette or turkey baster
tray
baking soda
vinegar
straw
wax paper
large tray with sides
ice cubes
salt
washable paint or food coloring

Wednesday: Blowing up balloon with CO2,
Balloon Races ,Exploding Baggie

Materials: plastic Ziplock sandwich bag
tissue
tablespoon
baking soda
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar

Thursday: Escaping Water, Hopping Corn,
Dominant Side

Materials: 2 glasses of water
An empty glass
food coloring
clear plastic or glass container
corn kernels
2 1/2 to 3 cups water * enough to fill container
baking soda
vinegar
pencil
paper
roll of paper towels or toilet paper
small soft ball or something soft to throw
