Class Description


Discover a new artform this summer as we learn how to paint, and draw our favorite characters in mixed media. This workshop is similar to our Acrylic Painting course but each week we explore a different medium of paint and also delve into markers, colored pencils and inks.


Class Requirements


The only requirement is that you have access to the supplies listed below, and a nice bright space to paint!


Class Supplies


-A set of Acrylic Brushes( a large flat, a medium round, and a small round ),


-9 x 12 canvas or illustration board.


– A basic set of acrylics primary colors (ie Black, White, Red, Blue, and Yellow ) is fine.


– Two wells to store water. Old cups are fine


– Paper towels


Additional supplies recommended


– sharpies
-a set of colored pencils
-HB pencil
-Kneaded eraser
-drafting eraser



Is this workshop process-based?

This is workshop is processed based in the sense that we have two standalone character design projects that are book-ended by two sessions of more open-ended drawing and painting. The first and third sessions we will be painting a pop culture character together. The second and fourth sessions as well as the third we will be doing an ‘ anthropomorphic ‘( human like version) of two of the four seasons in mixed media

Is this workshop okay for beginners?

Yes! This workshop is very much designed to meet kids where they are in terms of skill level.

What are the appropriate age ranges for this workshop and how many weeks does it go?

The age ranges for this workshop are 10-14 and the workshop runs four weeks over the summer.
