Beginner Level Portrait Drawing is for the new and the very new to drawing students. This course is broken down in easy part by part sections where you will learn about drawing tools and how to use them to create a more realistic portrait like learning the importance of value shading and placement of features. Paulette Pickard has been drawing since childhood. First in pencil, charcoal and a little in painting. She returned to School at Wake Technical College in N.C. in 2010 to learn Graphic Design in pursuit of owning an art related business in the future , and was always lead back to the love of drawing and portraiture. She has a special skill in teaching growing artist and non-artist a like a easy and non-scary attempt at learning portraiture with great results. She instructed at Holly Springs Cultural Center in Holly Springs, NC and Apex Community Center in Apex, NC and has had many students repeat the classes because of its enjoyment. She resides in Garner, NC and has one son and grandson. The loss of a daughter in 2013 catapulted the dream of sharing her art skill with others to bring them 'joy' which helped bring joy back in her life.
