This course is about
drawing everything, quickly and simply. Basic cartooning teaches
students how to approach drawing by showing them familiar symbols and
encouraging them to draw and add their own personal style. We begin
with the human face and facial expressions, then move to animals of
all kinds. Next we will talk about the setting of the picture: trees,
mountains, buildings, making 3D shapes, and different types of
interesting backgrounds. There is a fun lesson about adding special
cartoon effects like speed lines, stink lines, lightning bolts,
lettering, and explosions. Finally, we will highlight some important
artwork for holidays and special events that might be used for making
cards and signs.
The age range for students
is anywhere from 5 to 10 years old.
The course length is 10
