Do you love to dance? Have you always wanted to create your own routines? Not sure where to start? Welcome to Create Your Own Dance Choreography! This course is intended for dancers of all styles at an intermediate level or above. No matter your dance style of choice, this class will focus of a variety of exercises and assignments meant to spark your creativity and put you on a path toward choreographing your own dance routines. Classes will consist of improvisation and guided choreography assignments meant to push dancers out of their comfort zone and encourage a wide range of creative output. Dancers will have an opportunity to teach their choreography to one another and receive feedback. Dancers will also have the time to workshop choreography concepts and consider costuming and staging. Appropriate for ages 10-17. This course is 7.5 hours in total, 1.5 hours per day for 5 days, Monday-Friday.

Meet the Instructor
Mirissa Jones is a dance instructor and choreographer living in Orange County, CA. Mirissa has been teaching for over a decade at local dance studios, competitive teams, and K-8 schools. As an instructor, she has a passion for teaching beginning level students the fundamentals of jazz, ballet, and tap and then giving those students the opportunity to perform their choreography on the stage.
