Computers and French 101

Hello there! My name is Even and I have been playing with computers since ye olden days of Windows 98. I am a Cybersecurity major with a French minor through the University of Maine at Augusta. I live in Biddeford and look forward to imparting my knowledge and skills onward to eager students!

Hello! A little background:

I come from eight years in various reaches of medicine. When I first moved to Maine in June of 2010, I became a housekeeper at a local nursing facility. From there I went on to become a CNA, a Phlebotomist, and then a Medical Lab Assistant. Though my medical career had to end due to health issues, I’m now returning to my lifelong love of computers and technology.

My first time teaching tech was to an elderly neighbor. After the passing of her husband, her family bought her a Nintendo DS system with some word games and brain teasers to help keep her mind active and give her something to pass the time. They did not, however, show her how to use it. That’s where I came in. I took an afternoon with tea and sat down to teach Mrs. Gundock this unfamiliar tech and it just brightened my spirit to be able to have helped her.

I am a firm believer in that you can teach an old dog new tricks, especially if they’re eager to learn. I look forward also into teaching or tutoring children in basic French: pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. A love of learning and an interest in the world and our differences as humans is vital to life and understanding in the globalized world.
